Hyderabad, November 6, 2025 — In a strongly worded statement, the Telangana IAS Officers’ Association has registered its unequivocal protest against recent remarks made by the Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Education Institutions (FATHI), which personally targeted Smt. A. Sridevasena, IAS, In-charge Secretary of the Education Department.

The Association expressed deep concern over what it described as “unwarranted and unfounded statements” that undermine the dignity of the civil services and erode public trust in the administrative machinery. The remarks, which allegedly sought to belittle the officer’s role and question her integrity, were deemed wholly baseless and unacceptable.

Defending the Integrity of Public Service

In its resolution, the Association emphasized that civil servants across all levels serve the State with dedication, impartiality, and a deep sense of integrity—often under challenging circumstances and at considerable personal sacrifice. It warned that questioning the motives of officers without substantiated facts not only damages morale but also threatens the foundational ethos of public service.

“The Telangana IAS Officers’ Association demands that these unwarranted and unfounded statements be withdrawn without delay,” the statement read. “We call upon all concerned to exercise restraint and reflect on the gravity of making such allegations against officers fulfilling their official responsibilities in good faith.”

Call for Responsible Public Discourse

The Association further noted that such public remarks, especially when directed at individual officers, are detrimental to the spirit of healthy public discourse. It reiterated that the dignity of the office held by Smt. Sridevasena, IAS, must be respected, and that any criticism must be grounded in fact and conveyed through appropriate institutional channels.

The resolution was endorsed by senior IAS officers, including K. Ramakrishna Rao, President of the Association, and Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, who jointly affirmed the collective solidarity of the civil service community in defending its members against baseless aspersions.

This episode has sparked broader conversations about the need for respectful engagement between civil society institutions and the bureaucracy, especially in sectors as sensitive and vital as education.
