Sudarshan TV Wants Live Streaming of Case Against it’s UPSC Jihad Program, Files Application in SC

 In an unprecedented move Sudarshan TV filed an application in Supreme Court seeking live telecast of its case.

The Application is filed through Advocate Vishnu Shanker Jain’

Channel has claimed that lakhs and crores of viewers of Sudershan TV want to know about the legal proceedings conducted before the top court and “They want to hear the points of arguments being raised by the parties.

The bench of Justice YC Chandrachud, KM Joseph and Indu Malhotra nide its orders on Septemeber 16 had injuncted the channel from broadcasting any further episode of itsimpugned after observing that the Channel was doing disservice to the nation by stating that Muslims have infiltrated the civil services.

It is submitted that the Mr. Suresh Chavhanke is running a TV News channel in the name and style Sudarshan news channel and it is very popular in the public. One of the most important shows which is being broadcast is “Bindas Bol” at 8 P.M. The deponent prepared ten episodes after collecting different materials through investigative journalism and the same was scheduled to be broadcast from 28.08.2020 in the name of“UPSC Jehad”.

The viewer’s due to interim order passed by Hon’ble Delhi High Court could not view the said Episode on 28.08.2020. However after the order passed by the Central Government on 9.09.2020 the deponent was permitted to broadcast the same. Accordingly the deponent on 1.09.2020, 12.09.2020, 13.09.2020 and 14.09.2020 broadcast the episode and narrated the relevant facts, materials and video clips. These episodes were viewed by crores of citizens of the country.After the Apex Court’s interim orders on 15-9-2020 thereby restraining the management of TV from teecasting further episodes. Tere after the matter was taken up on 17-09-2020 and now it is fixed on 18-09-2020

It is prayed that

a) Direct for Live of the Proceedings of this case through audio-visual broadcasting/telecasting universally by an official agency as the Hon’ble court may deem fit and proper; and

b) Pass such other order or orders as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit  nd proper in the circumstances of the case.
