CM Revanth Reddy Meets PM Modi in New Delhi, Seeks Key Approvals for Telangana’s Growth

New Delhi, Wednesday: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, urging his intervention to clear critical infrastructure and development projects for Telangana.

During the meeting, CM Reddy highlighted the need for immediate approval of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II project, which aims to connect key areas of the city with a 76.4 km stretch at an estimated cost of Rs. 24,269 crore. He noted that the previous government failed to prioritize metro expansion and emphasized the urgency of this expansion.

The Chief Minister also pressed for the approval of the Southern part of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), with 90% of land acquisition already completed for the northern section. He further requested the sanctioning of a Regional Ring Rail project and a Dry Port near the RRR to improve logistics and trade for Telangana, a landlocked state.

Additionally, CM Reddy sought PM Modi’s support for the Musi Rejuvenation project, which includes vital infrastructure like STPs and river linking, requesting Rs. 20,000 crore in financial assistance. He also appealed for the transfer of 222.7 acres of defense land for the Gandhi Sarovar project.

In light of rising cyber-crimes and drug trafficking, the CM requested an increase in IPS cadre posts, highlighting the need for 29 additional officers to address growing security concerns. Lastly, CM Reddy urged the PM to consider Telangana for the India Semiconductor Mission, recognizing the state’s readiness to host the industry.

The meeting was attended by Telangana IT and Industry Minister D. Sridhar Babu, as the state continues to push for crucial developments to enhance its infrastructure and industrial capacity.
