Centre Appoints Justice Vipin Sanghi Senior Most Judge of Delhi High Court as Acting CJ Of DHC

The Department of Justice of the Union Ministry notified Justice Sanghi’s appointment on Friday, on the retirement of the current Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Justice DN Patel

In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India,

the President is pleased to appoint, Shri Justice Vipin Sanghi, senior-most Judge of

the Delhi High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the

Delhi High Court, with effect from 13.03.2022 consequent upon the retirement of

Shri Justice Dhirubhai Nanubhai Patel, Chief Justice, Delhi High Court.”States the notification. Initially worked in the office of Mukul Rohatgi, Senior Advocate. Was appointed as Central Government Panel Advocate and functioned as such during 1990-91. Was also appointed as Central Government Panel lawyer in the Supreme Court of India. Also functioned as Counsel for the M.C. Jain, Commission of Enquiry. Practiced on the Civil and Constitutional side in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble High Court of Delhi. Was designated as Senior Advocate by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court in December, 2005.

He attended various International Law Conferences including the LAWASIA Biennial Conferences in Tokyo, Japan and Gold Coast, Australia, The POLA conference in Hong and the INSOL Law Conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Delhi with effect from May 29,2006 and confirmed as a Judge on 11th February, 2008.

Justice Vipin Sanghi, B.Sc., LL.B., was born on October 27, 1961. He was enrolled as an Advocate on July 24, 1986. He practiced in the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court in Civil, Constitutional, Company, Service and Arbitration matters. His field of specialization is General Civil Cases. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court on May 29, 2006 and as Permanent Judge on February 11, 2008.
