CBI Arrests Three Superintendents of GST, Customs in Separate Cases of Bribery in Karnataka

The Central Bureau of investigation has today arrested two Superintendents of GST, Bellary (Karnataka) in a Bribery of Rs.80.000/-
The case was registered on complaint against a superintendent working in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Central Tax,GST Division, Bellary and unknown others on the allegations of demanding and accepting bribe of 100,000/-for closing the file of the Complainant in connection with delay in payment of GST.Laterthe demand of bribe was reduced to 80,000/-
The CBI authorities laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 80,000/-from the Complainant. The other superintended was also caught during the trap. Searches are being conducted at the residential and official premises of the accused.
The press communiqué from the CBI states that both the accused will be produced before the Jurisdictional court before Bangalore.
In another case, CBI has arrested a superintendent of Customs, Chamarajpet, and Bangalore for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8,500/-from the Complainant.
