Hyderabad, June 29: Intensifying its campaign for equitable representation in judicial appointments, the Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association (THCAA), led by its President Sri S. Surender Reddy, on Monday met His Excellency Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, and submitted a detailed representation urging intervention to address what the Association described as the continued under-representation of advocates of Telangana origin in appointments to the Telangana High Court Bench.
The delegation handed over a memorandum along with a copy of the resolution unanimously adopted at the Extraordinary General Body Meeting of the Association held on June 15, 2026, reiterating its long-standing demand for fair and adequate representation of eligible Telangana advocates in the process of judicial elevation.
During the meeting, the Association apprised the Hon’ble Governor of what it termed as a persistent imbalance in appointments to the High Court, contending that deserving members of the Telangana Bar have not received proportionate consideration despite their professional competence, experience, and contribution to the justice delivery system.
The representatives emphasized that the issue transcends individual aspirations and concerns the broader principle of ensuring that the composition of the constitutional court reflects the legal fraternity it serves.
They urged the Governor to lend his support to their cause and to take up the matter with the appropriate constitutional authorities entrusted with the process of judicial appointments.
According to the Association, His Excellency responded positively to the representation and gave the delegation a patient hearing, acknowledging the concerns placed before him.
The delegation comprised Sri S. Surender Reddy, President; Sri D.L. Pandu, Vice-President; Sri P. Shravan Kumar Goud, Secretary; Sri K. Niranjan Reddy, Secretary; and Smt. P. Krishna Keertana, Joint Secretary, all of whom participated in submitting the memorandum.
The latest representation forms part of the Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association’s sustained efforts to seek what it describes as a fair, transparent, and inclusive approach to judicial appointments, with the objective of ensuring that advocates from Telangana receive equitable consideration in elevations to the High Court.
