Gruesome Murder in Bachupally: Swift Police Action Leads to Quick Arrest of Accused

Hyderabad, 06.06.2025—A chilling murder case unfolded in the quiet neighbourhood of Vijaya Durga Owners Association Colony, Bachupally, when a large travel bag was found abandoned in a secluded area on the morning of 04.06.2025. Upon inspection, the body of an unidentified woman, believed to be between 25–30 years old, was discovered inside the bag. Following an initial complaint by the local watchman, suspicions arose that unknown individuals had brutally murdered the woman. Consequently, a murder case was promptly registered at the Bachupally Police Station. Immediately after the incident was reported, senior officers, including Balanagar DCP K. Suresh Kumar, IPS, ADCP Satyanarayana, Kukatpally ACP Ravi Kiran Reddy, along with local Bachupally police, Dog Squad, Fingerprint Team, Clues Team, SOT Balanagar Team, and CCS Balanagar Team, arrived at the scene. DCP K. Suresh Kumar, IPS, formed five special teams to trace the perpetrator without delay.
On the night of 05.06.2025, at approximately 1800 hours, acting on credible intelligence, the Balanagar SOT Team and Bachupally Police apprehended the accused, identified as Vijay Toppa @ Wilson, from Bowrampet, Bachupally. He was taken into custody at the Bachupally Police Station, where he confessed to the crime during interrogation.
Tara Bohra. The victim, a 33-year-old housewife, was a resident of Indiramma Colony, Borampet, Medchal–Malkangiri District. Originally from Baglung District, Nepal, she had moved to Hyderabad to live with the accused, despite being married with two children.
The accused, 30-year-old Vijay Toppa @ Wilson, worked as a chef at AR Fast Food Centre, Bachupally. He also resided in Indiramma Colony, Borampet, but hailed from Galkot Area, Baglung District, Nepal.
Following an extensive investigation, police apprehended Vijay in Bowrampet, Bachupally, on 06.06.2025 at 2100 hours. He has confessed to the crime and is being presented before the court for judicial remand proceedings.
Authorities have seized key evidence, including the deceased’s mobile phone, the accused’s mobile phone, the travel bag, and the nylon thread used in the crime.
Case Details and Motive Both the accused and the victim were natives of Nepal who had developed a relationship through Facebook. The deceased was married with two children but had travelled to Hyderabad on 15.04.2025 to live with the accused in a rented room in Indiramma Colony, Bowrampet.
During the early morning hours of 23.05.2025, around 5:00 AM, a heated argument erupted between the two concerning the woman’s pregnancy. In a fit of rage, Vijay Toppa @ Wilson strangled her with a nylon thread, killing her instantly. In a gruesome attempt to dispose of evidence, he stuffed the body into a travel bag, carried it on his shoulders, and abandoned it in a secluded area of Vijaya Durga Owners Association Colony before fleeing.
Utilizing CCTV footage and intelligence inputs, police meticulously tracked the accused’s movements, leading to his arrest on 06.06.2025 at around 2100 hours in Bowrampet, Bachupally. He is being presented in court today for judicial remand proceedings.
