In a significant move to bolster the Telugu film industry, Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy held an important meeting with industry representatives on Thursday to address various challenges and chart a course for future growth. The meeting served as a platform for open dialogue, where film industry leaders shared their concerns, misconceptions, and ideas with the government, seeking a collaborative approach to overcoming hurdles.

Highlighting the government’s commitment, CM Reddy revealed that special orders have already been issued for eight films, and the police grounds have been allocated for the highly anticipated Pushpa – 2. The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government aims to create a new brand image for the Telugu film industry, aligning it with the success of sectors like IT and Pharma. “We will ensure the industry’s prosperity by granting it equal importance and support,” he stated.

One of the key announcements was the introduction of the Gaddar Film Awards, a prestigious recognition for excellence in filmmaking, and the appointment of renowned film producer Dil Raju as the new Chairman of the Film Development Corporation (FDC). Dil Raju’s role will be to coordinate efforts between the government and the film industry, ensuring seamless collaboration.

A Cabinet Sub-Committee will soon be formed to specifically address and resolve the issues faced by the film industry, and industry leaders have been encouraged to establish their own committee to assist in this effort. The Chief Minister also highlighted the convenience of Hyderabad as a filming hub, with film crews and actors being able to reach the city within two hours of completing shoots. He urged the industry to help promote eco-tourism and temple tourism, contributing to the state’s broader development.

Drawing comparisons to Mumbai’s success as Bollywood’s epicenter, CM Reddy emphasized that Hyderabad stands out as one of the best cosmopolitan cities in India. The state is taking proactive steps to bring Hollywood and Bollywood to Hyderabad, with plans to host large-scale conferences aimed at attracting other film industries to the city. “Our goal is to elevate the film industry to the next level,” he added.

In line with his vision for skill development, CM Reddy also highlighted the establishment of the Young India Skills University and Advanced Technology Centers, designed to enhance the skillset of the youth and create more employment opportunities. The government’s forward-thinking approach also includes the establishment of a Sports University aimed at fostering Olympic success for the state in the future.

While focusing on the future, the Chief Minister reminded the industry of its responsibility to promote social causes, including raising awareness about the dangers of drugs and the growing menace of ganja. “The previous Congress governments did much for the film industry, and our government will continue this legacy,” he assured, emphasizing that his administration’s primary goal is the promotion and development of the industry.

Concluding the meeting, CM Reddy reinforced his position as a neutral enforcer of laws, ensuring that the development of the film industry would not be confined to Telugu cinema alone. “Together, let’s build a thriving film industry, and the government will provide all necessary support to make it happen,” he affirmed.
