New Delhi 20, May, 2025-Senior advocate Vikas Singh has secured his fourth term as President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). A former Additional Solicitor General, Singh previously held the role in 2018, 2021, and 2022-23.

In the 2025 elections, Singh triumphed over senior advocates Aadesh C Agarwal and Pradeep Kumar Rai. Agarwal, a former SCBA president, has longstanding associations with the International Council of Jurists and the All-India Bar Association, while Rai previously served as SCBA vice president and is recognized for his active involvement in bar affairs.

The elections took place under the supervision of a committee comprising senior advocates Jitendra Mohan Sharma, Vijay Hansaria, and Mahalaxmi Bhavani, following a directive from the Supreme Court to conduct voting on May 20, with counting and result declarations by May 21.

Additionally, the Supreme Court mandated that the post of SCBA secretary be reserved for women candidates in the 2025 elections. Furthermore, one-third of the executive seats (three out of nine) and two out of six senior executive positions were reserved for women.

Voting was based on the finalized voter list from the 2024 elections, with eligibility extended to members up to February 28, 2025.

Singh’s victory underscores his continued influence in the legal fraternity, and his leadership is expected to shape key discussions within the SCBA in the coming years
