Urgent Security Alert: Complaint Filed Against Khalistan Leader Over Threats to Air India Passengers

In a shocking development, Advocate Vineet Jindal has filed a formal complaint against Gurupatwant Singh Pannun, the head of the Khalistani organization “Sikhs for Justice,” in New Delhi. This action comes amid alarming threats aimed at passengers flying on Air India between November 1 and November 19, 2024, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the 1984 Sikh genocide.

The complaint, reported by India Today, follows recent incidents of violence, including a bomb blast near a CRPF school in Pitampura, which authorities believes involvement of Khalistani terrorists. Pannu has a history of issuing menacing threats against the Indian government and its citizens, and just days ago, he released a video calling for further acts of terrorism.

Jindal’s complaint seeks to invoke the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the National Security Act (NSA), and the Information Technology Act against Pannu and his associates for their ongoing terrorist activities that jeopardize the safety of Air India flights and their passengers. He emphasized the urgent need for action to ensure public safety and national security.

Adding to the tension, another designated Khalistani terrorist, Satwant Singh Kanoon, has also warned against boarding Air India flights during the same period, asserting plans for an attack to commemorate the Sikh genocide anniversary. Pannun, who holds dual citizenship in Canada and the U.S., is notorious for issuing threats and has previously targeted Indian Parliament officials.

This escalation of threats comes at a sensitive time in Indo-Canadian relations, marked by diplomatic tensions following accusations against Indian diplomats in Canada and claims regarding a planned assassination of Pannu. With several Indian airlines receiving bomb threats recently, the security of air travel remains a pressing concern.

In past statements, Pannun has called for drastic actions, including the closure of Indira Gandhi International Airport on November 19, and threatened high-profile attacks against Indian officials. As these events unfold, the safety of passengers remains a paramount concern, and authorities are urged to take immediate and effective measures to counter these threats.
