Tripple Talaq Bill tabled in Lok Sabha, amid opposition protest and Uproar

The government on Friday introduced the fresh triple Talaq Bill in the Lok Sabha amid vehement protest by Opposition members who claims that it is Violative of the constitution.
The Union Law minister Ravi Shanker Prasad introduced the bill in Lok Sabha today. The Bill seeks to make instant Triple Talaq a Crime punishable Under Indian Penal Code. The introduction of Muslim Women (Protection on Rights of Marriage) Bill 2019 by Prasad saw a huge uproar in the Lok Sabha.
Triple Talaq Bill seeks to replace an ordinance Promulgated in January this Year.
With the dissolution 16th Lok Sabha last month the Bill had lapsed as it was pending in Rajya Sabha.
Congress MP Sashi Tharoor Opposed the introduction of the bill, saying that the government must make a law that universally punishes those abandoned their wives. The bill is amenable to misuse.
All India Majlis-e-Itehad-ul-Mulimeen President and Hyderabad MP Asad uddin Owasi targeted the Government over the bill taking a dig at the government Owasi said That “the BJP has so Affection for Muslim women but it opposed the rights of Hindu women to enter Sabarimala temple in Kerala”
He said the triple talaq bill violates constitutional rights as it stipulates three-year term for guilty Muslim men while non-Muslim men will get only one year of jail term for a similar offence.
The moment Prasad tabled the bill several opposition members objected and the speaker Om brilla allowed them to put forth their views.
The bill was introduced following division of votes,with 186 members supporting and 74 members opposing it.
