Tragic Mishap in Bala Nagar: Biker Dies After Attempting to Flee Traffic Check; No Foul Play Found Against Constable

Hyderabad,14, April,2025. A tragic road accident took place around 12:30 PM on April 13, 2025, at Indira Gandhi Nagar within the Balanagar Police Station limits. The incident occurred when a motorcyclist, Joshu Babu, attempted to evade a traffic challan being issued by Traffic Police Constable A. Gopal.
In the process of fleeing, Joshu Babu’s bike collided with another two-wheeler and he subsequently came under an RTC bus, leading to his unfortunate death.
Following the incident, some media outlets and social media posts alleged that the traffic constable was under the influence of alcohol and had assaulted the deceased. However, official tests including a breath analyser and blood test confirmed that Constable Gopal had no traces of alcohol in his system.
Furthermore, video footage reviewed by the police — and also shown to the bereaved family — revealed no signs of any physical assault on the biker by the constable.
A case has been registered under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as Cr.No.191/2025 at Balanagar PS, Cyberabad. A thorough investigation is underway, and authorities have assured that any necessary action will be taken against involved officers based on the outcome of the enquiry.
