The Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim decided a sit-in protest for the physical resumption of Courts

Keeping in view of the plight of Lawyers due to non-resumption of physical courts the Council held an urgent meeting and decided to hold a Sit-In-Demonstration for an hour on 138-2020 at11:30 am

In an urgent meeting held on Monday by the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim it was decided that an hour-long Sit-In-Protest will be staged in front of the courts to voice their demand for the resumption of the physical court proceedings citing the plight of lawyers.

The non-resumption of physical courts has caused a great trauma to the lawyers, they are unable to use Bar libraries of the Subordinate Courts amid COVID-19 pandemic.

The body has decided to stage an hour long Sit-In-Protest at 11:30 AM on August 13, 2020 and bring it into the notice of the Concerned Higher authorities. The meeting was presided over by Advocate Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Chaudhry Chairman of the Bar Council on Monday.

It is made clear in the meeting that all the participants will ensure the safety protocols of the COVID-19.
