Hyderabad,1, March, 2025.In a groundbreaking initiative to support the children of police officers and uniformed personnel, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced the establishment of the Young India Police School in Manchirevula, RR District. The school is set to cater specifically to the educational needs of children whose parents’ demanding work schedules often hinder their ability to focus on academics.
The unique project is a first-of-its-kind in the region, with 50% of the admissions reserved for children of police and uniformed personnel, ensuring that those who serve the community will have equal access to quality education for their children. The remaining 50% of seats will be available to the general public, further fostering community integration.
In a move to ensure accessibility, the fee structure for the school will be tiered, depending on the rank of the parent in the police force, ranging from Home Guards to Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI), Sub-Inspectors (SI), Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl SP), and the prestigious IPS category. The fee for the public category will also be structured to ensure affordability for all. This approach reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that children of uniformed personnel are given the tools to excel, irrespective of their financial background.
In a momentous event today, CM Revanth Reddy officially launched the Young India Police School by unveiling its brochure and launching the school’s website, signalling the commencement of admissions. This was followed by an enthusiastic address where the CM outlined the school’s mission to provide high-quality education to children, while easing the educational burden on their parents who often work irregular hours.
The project, which has been diligently worked on for the past two months by a dedicated team of officers led by CV Anand, has made remarkable progress. The necessary government permissions, lease deeds, MOUs, and recruitment processes for essential staff—including a principal, general manager, and teachers—have all been completed. Moreover, the school’s infrastructure is either completed or well underway, making it ready for the grand opening on March 31, 2025.
This new educational institution is not just a school but a step forward by CM to the government’s recognition of the tireless efforts of those who protect and serve the community, ensuring that their children have every opportunity to succeed and thrive in their academic journeys.
