The investigations revealed a disturbing pattern of trafficking and exploitation. Local brokers, such as Kamarul Shekh and Ajarul Sekh from West Bengal, orchestrated the illegal migration of Bangladeshi nationals. These brokers targeted vulnerable individuals, particularly young girls facing financial hardship in Bangladesh. They provided them with temporary shelters in West Bengal and forged Indian ID proofs to facilitate their migration under the pretence of employment opportunities.
Each migrant was charged between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 for their migration, and once in India, they were forced into illegal activities. The traffickers were operating in major cities like Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Among the arrested individuals, some have criminal backgrounds, including previous involvement in cases related to theft, POCSO Act violations, and other criminal activities. The authorities are currently continuing their investigations to uncover the full extent of this illegal operation.
The raids were carried out by a dedicated team led by S. Raghavendra, Inspector of Police, Task Force, South Zone, along with M. Raju, Inspector of Police, Chaderghat P.S., and S. Rajasekhar, Inspector of Police, Khairathabad P.S., supported by other staff members from Task Force and local police.
The arrested individuals, along with the rescued victims, have been handed over to the respective police stations for further investigation and legal proceedings.
This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Hyderabad’s law enforcement to bust human trafficking rings and safeguard vulnerable migrants. Authorities are continuing their work to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent further exploitation.
Cases have been registered under various sections, including the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act,1956 (PITA) and the Foreigners Act, 1946, with continued investigations by both the Task Force and local police to ensure that all involved in this illegal operation face the full force of the law.
