Tamil Nadu CM Announces Rs. 10 Lakh Increase in Death Benefits For Deceased Lawyers’ Families

In a landmark decision aimed at providing financial relief to the families of deceased lawyers, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has announced an increase of Rs. 10 lakhs in death benefits for the families of lawyers who pass away while still in practice. This move comes as a significant support for families left in financial distress after the untimely demise of their loved ones, who often carry the burden of debt and uncertain livelihoods.

As part of this initiative, the first tranche of Rs. 1 crore was disbursed today to the families of 10 deceased lawyers, with each family receiving financial assistance in the presence of the Chief Minister. In the first phase, a total of 500 families will benefit from this enhanced support.

The ceremony, which marked a momentous occasion for the legal community, was attended by Hon. Law Minister P.S. Amalraj, S. Prabhakaran, Chairman of the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, V. Karthikeyan, Vice Chairman of the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Bar Council, and Mr. P.S. Raman, the Learned Advocate General of Tamil Nadu.

This generous move positions Tamil Nadu as a leading example in India for providing financial aid to the families of deceased legal professionals. The legal fraternity across the country has expressed deep appreciation for the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s compassionate approach, with many extending their gratitude for his unwavering support to the legal community.
