Supreme Court to Appoint Retired SC judge to probe killing of Hyderabad rape accused

A retired Supreme Court judge would be appointed to investigate the Hyderabad rape-murder accused, in this regard Supreme Court would pass orders tomorrow, said the Chief Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde.
Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said that the court had considered Justice PV Reddy but he was not available .The bench asked the parties to suggest names, and said it will consider the matter tomorrow.
A PIL petition was filed in the Apex court by Advocates GS Mani and Pradeep Kumar Yadav.
The petitioners contended that an FIR should be filed against the police personnel involved in the alleged encounter.
The petitioner also have placed great reliance on the PUCL case and cited it to urge the court that, in the light of Article 21 guaranteeing everyone a right to lead a dignified life, even the state does not have the power to violate it.
The petitioners observed that the body language of the V C Sajjana IPS during the press conference suggested that he has no regrets over the killing.
The Telangana High Court has taken cognizance of the encounter based on a representation received by the office of the Chief Justice.
The National Human Rights Commission has also taken suo moto cognizance of the killing and ordered spot inquiry.
