Supreme Court Shows Grave Concern Over Fake News in CJI’s Name Complaint Filed

In a significant development Supreme of India has expresses grave concern over the fake news being circulated on social media.
The post doing the rounds on social media claimed that the CJI has appealed to the public to unite and come out on the streets against “Dictatorial Government”.
The Public Relations officer (PRO) of the Supreme Court on Monday flagged a fake piece of news circulating on social media and messenger apps falsely attributing a quote of the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.
The PRO in a pressnote stated thatthe social media post is fake, ill-intended and mischievous and was not issued by the CJI or anyone authorised by him.
It has come to the notice of the Supreme Court of India that a social media post (invoking the public to protest against authorities) using a file photograph and falsely quoting the Chief Justice India is being circulated. The post is fake, ill-intended and mischievous. No such post has been issued by the Chief Justice of India nor has he authorised any such post. Appropriate action is being taken in this regard with the law enforcement authorities. It isstated in the press release.
