South-East Zone Task Force Seizes Banned E-Cigarettes Worth ₹2.5 Lakhs, Arrests Hyderabad Man

March 5, 2025, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended Mohammed Waqaruddin, a 20-year-old resident of Kalapathar, Hyderabad, for illegally selling banned Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS), including E-cigarettes, with a market value of approximately ₹2,52,000. The operation took place within the jurisdiction of Kalapathar Police Station.

Case Overview: The South-East Zone Task Force, led by Inspector Sri S. Saidababu, received credible information about the illegal sale of banned E-cigarettes. During the raid, the team discovered that Waqaruddin was in possession of several brands of banned E-cigarettes, including I-Moment 9000 Puffs, Elfbar 6000, 20000, and 30000 Puffs, Olivebar 15000 Puffs, and IGet 10000 Puffs.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Waqaruddin, along with his friend and classmate Laksh Goel (aka Skylab) from Hussaini Alam, had procured the illegal E-cigarettes from a person named Rahul in Delhi via E-Cart courier service. The duo had been selling these products at inflated prices to customers, making substantial illegal profits.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Inspector Sri S. Saidababu and was supported by Sub-Inspectors M. Madhu, Sk. Kaviuddin, P. Sairam, Police Constable Syed Aziz Mohammed, and staff from both the Commissioner’s Task Force and Kalapathar Police Station.
