On the 25th of March 2025, all members of the Bar will cease work in an unprecedented protest, calling attention to the horrific incident that took place on the 24th of March 2025, where advocate Mr. Esrayal was brutally attacked and murdered in the Champa pet area. The executive committee, in a unanimous decision, condemned the savage and inhumane act that claimed the life of their colleague and friend.
The committee’s resolution is clear and resolute. They have vowed to take immediate action, demanding justice for Mr. Esrayal. and ensuring that no such incident is allowed to repeat. As part of their efforts, the association has decided to submit a formal representation to the Director General of Police for Telangana, as well as to the Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad, urging them to launch a swift and thorough investigation to bring all perpetrators, including the so-called assailants involved, to justice.
Further intensifying their fight for justice, the committee has called for an immediate implementation of the Advocate Protection Act in the state of Telangana. This request will be presented to none other than the Chief Minister of Telangana, as the association insists that steps be taken to safeguard the lives of legal professionals who are increasingly becoming victims of violence and intimidation.
