Sexual Assault Case: Father Found Guilty of Raping His Own Daughter

A sexual harassment and rape incident occurred in December 2015 involving a minor girl from Gulshan Iqbal Colony, Chandrayangutta. The victim’s mother reported the case on November 26, 2021. The perpetrator, Arshad Hussain, (Biological Father of the Victim) was accused of raping his eldest daughter, a minor, and he reportedly threatened her against disclosing the incident to family members
Consequently, a case had been registered under Cr.No. 657/2021, citing sections 376 (2)(f), 323, and 506 of the IPC, as well as sections 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act 2012. The accused, Arshad Hussain, aged 52, son of Mazher Hussain, who is currently unemployed and lives at 18-1-350/135, Gulshan Iqbal Colony, Chandrayangutta, has been apprehended and brought before the court for judicial remand.
After collection of evidence by Sri. K. N. Prasad Verma, SHO Chandrayangutta placed charge sheet before XII ASJ Court, Hyderabad vide SCPC No. 03/2022. Due to bifurcation of PS jurisdiction the case was transferred to PS Santosh Nagar for further action. During the trial the police Santosh Nagar had produced all the witnesses before the court and ensured successful trial.
On March 28, 2025, the Honourable XII Additional Sessions Judge in Hyderabad delivered a verdict convicting Arshad Hussain, son of Mazher Hussain, aged 52, unemployed, and residing at 18-1-350/135, Gulshan Iqbal Colony, Chandrayangutta.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs. 10,000 for the offense under section 5(n) read with section 6 of the POCSO Act. In the event of non-payment of the fine, he is to serve an additional six months of simple imprisonment. Furthermore, he received a two-year rigorous imprisonment sentence and a fine of Rs. 5,000 for the offense under section 323 of the IPC, with a three-month simple imprisonment term for non-payment. Additionally, the victim is to receive compensation of Rs. 500,000
