Seven Years Rigorous Imprisonment to Five Accused In A CBI Case.

The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Asansol (West Bengal) has sentenced five accused persons namely S/Shri Ramdev Prasad, the then Section Incharge; K.K. Prasad, the then Dealing Assistant, both of CMPF; B.C. Kaibarta, then SPM, Haripur Post Office and Bidhan Chandra Roy & Ajay Kumar Singha (both private persons) to undergo seven years Rigorous Imprisonment. The Court has also imposed fine of Rs. 30,000/- each on first three accused and Rs. 10,000/- each on remaining two accused.
CBI had registered a case on the allegations that accused entered into a conspiracy with each other and in furtherance to the said conspiracy, the accused initiated false PF loan applications in the name of two officials of Colliery, got sanctioned the loan of Rs. 50,000/- each and withdrew the amounts from Haripur Post Office by opening false accounts in their names.
After investigation, chargesheet was filed in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Asansol against the accused. The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.
