Robe-Clad Intruder Tries to Disrupt Supreme Court: CJI Gavai Doesn’t Flinch

(By Syed Ali Taher Abedi)

Delhi 6, October,2025- In a startling moment during Supreme Court proceedings, a man dressed in a lawyer’s robe attempted to hurl an object—reportedly either a shoe or a rolled-up paper—at Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai. The courtroom briefly descended into chaos as the man shouted slogans, including “Sanatan Dharam ka Apmaan Naheen Sahega Hindustan,” (India will not tolerate the insult of Sanatan Dharma.) before being swiftly escorted out by security personnel.

Despite the disruption, CJI Gavai remained composed and continued the proceedings without pause. Addressing the incident, he calmly remarked, “Don’t get distracted. We are not distracted by this. These things do not affect me.”

The interruption lasted only a few minutes, and the court resumed its business with untiring focus. Eyewitness accounts varied on what exactly was thrown, but all agreed on the man’s aggressive outburst and the dignified response from the bench.
