NIA rejects BJP MP Pragya Thakur’s Exemtion Plea

Citing the ill-health, geographical distance, on-going Parliament session BJP MP from Bhopal Pragya Thakur moved an exemption plea in a special court of National Investigation Agency.
The special NIA court in Mumbai rejected Bhopal MP Pragya Thakur’s plea seeking exemption from appearing before it once in a week in connection with the 2008 Malegaon terror blast case.
The court observed that these grounds are not reasonable for granting the permanent exemption from attending the court.
Apart from Pragya Singh Tahkur there are other accused Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit, Retired Major Ramesh Upadhyay,Sudhakar Dwivedi,Ajay Rahikar, Sameer Kulkarni and Sudhakar Chturvedi they have been charged under variouse sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act(UAPA)and the relevant sections of the (IPC).
On Sep 29 2008 six people were killed and dozen others were injured when a bomb placed on a motor cycle exploded in Maharashtra,s Malegaon City.
