MES Probationers at Dr MCR HRD Institute Participate in Kabir Jayanthi

Dr MCR HRD Institute organized Sant Guru Kabir’s Jayanti, which was a first-of-its-kind
event at the Institute. The Military Engineer Services (MES) Probationers from 13 States, who
are attending the first-ever Foundation Course from 13 States, sponsored by Ministry of
Defence, Govt of India, participated in the Kabir Jayanthi celebrations with zeal and fervour.
The purpose of the event was to create wider awareness about the teachings of Sant Kabir in
general and communal harmony in particular.
Seven teams of the MES Probationers and an Assistant Collector under Training made creative
presentations on Communal Harmony. The Skits, Mono Acts, Poetry, etc. presented by them,
focused on Kabir’s teachings which not only revealed eternal truth for all times but also are relevant
even in the contemporary world for giving a boost to communal harmony, brotherhood, and equality.
Sri B P Acharya, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary & DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute felicitated the
team of MES Probationers, led by Mr. Ankit Goyal and Mr. Shashank Burman, who bagged the
first prize in the presentations on communal harmony. Sri Acharya said that Kabir’s poems
have been inspiring the mankind to work for harmonious society which is based on equity and
social justice. “In a world torn apart by religious strife today, Kabir’s writings take on even
more relevance”, he added.
The artists of Gyan Prakash Mandali presented Sant Kabir’s soulful Dohas and a fusion of their
content and rhythm filled the air with a sense of spirituality and devotion.
Sports Meet for the MES Probationers
On this occasion, Sri Acharya gave away a trophy to the winners of the Cricket Tournament,
captained by Mr. Sahil Ratusaria. Sri Harpreet Singh, IAS, ADG presented medals and
mementoes to those who bagged first positions in different competitions. They included Puneet
Dhiman in 100 metres run, Mr Rajat Kothari in 400 metres run, Mr Mahendra Mundel in Shot
Put, Mr Sahil Ratusaria in Javelin Throw, and Mr Kuldeep Singh in Discuss Throw. These
competitions were held as a part of the Sports Meet whose purpose was to celebrate victories
and to impart lessons on sportsman spirit among the MES Probationers.
Interacting with the Probationers, Sri Acharya said that whether it is the toughest Engineering
Service Examination or a sports competition, what matters most is giving it one’s best shot and
added that the Probationers can borrow many a lesson from sportspersons such as setting
inspiring goals, motivating teams to perform well, and inculcating high level of discipline in
order to succeed on professional and personal fronts.
The event was attended by the Officers, Faculty, Staff, and Trainees in large numbers.
The lively commentary by Mr. Alok Ojha and Mr Mayank Agarwal proved to be an icing on
the cake.
