Major Drug Trafficking Ring Busted: 273 Kg Dry Ganja Seized, Three Arrested in Telangana

In a noteworthy crackdown on drug trafficking, the Shameerpet Police, in collaboration with the Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) Balanagar, successfully intercepted a major consignment of dry ganja being transported from Odisha to Haryana via Telangana. Three individuals involved in the illegal operation have been arrested, and authorities have seized 273 kilograms of dry ganja, along with a Bolero pickup vehicle and other items valued at over ₹1 crore.

Arrested Accused:

  1. Pardeep Kumar @ Ajay Sharma (27) – A driver from Bowenpally, Secunderabad, originally from Fazilka District, Punjab.
  2. Sunny (25) – A driver from Bowenpally, Secunderabad, previously involved in multiple criminal cases in Haryana.
  3. Manish Kumar (29) – A helper in Packers & Movers, also from Bowenpally, Secunderabad.

Key Details of the Case:

The gang operated a sophisticated network, using encrypted communication channels like WhatsApp and Jio dongles to evade police detection. The operation began with Pardeep Kumar and Sahil (currently absconding) planning the consignment in March 2025. They sourced the ganja from Subhash Biswas in Odisha, arranging the illegal shipment through Telangana to Haryana.

The ganja was concealed among household items in a Bolero pickup vehicle to avoid detection during transit. The seizure occurred when the suspects were intercepted near the Shameerpet ORR Junction.

  • Dry Ganja: 273 kg, valued at approximately ₹95.55 lakh
  • Vehicle: Bolero Pickup (₹5 lakh)
  • Mobile Devices & Jio Dongle: 7 units (₹70,000)
  • Total Estimated Value: ₹1,01,25,000

Ongoing Investigation:

Authorities are actively searching for absconding suspects Sahil and Subhash Biswas, who played key roles in the supply chain. The case is under further investigation to uncover additional links in the drug trafficking network.
