Justice Biswajit Palit Appointed as Permanent Judge of Tripura High Court

Agartala, September 25: The Union Government has notified the appointment of Justice Biswajit Palit as a permanent judge of the Tripura High Court. The decision, issued on September 24, comes pursuant to the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium on September 15.

Justice Palit, who was serving as an additional judge of the High Court since October 26, 2023, brings with him over two decades of judicial experience. He began his career in the Tripura Judicial Service in 2001 and went on to serve in seven out of the state’s eight judicial districts in various judicial capacities.

Throughout his career, Justice Palit held several key administrative positions, including Member Secretary of the Tripura Legal Services Authority, Secretary of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, and Law Secretary to the Government of Tripura. He was promoted to the selection grade of the Tripura Judicial Service on February 1, 2021, before his elevation to the High Court bench.

With his appointment as a permanent judge, Justice Palit is expected to further contribute to strengthening the judicial system in the state.
