Pune 21, August,2025-A civil court in Pune has issued summons to actor Arshad Warsi, director Subhash Kapoor, and producer Arun Bhatia following a petition filed by city-based advocate Wajed Rahim Khan. The complaint seeks to halt the release of the upcoming film Jolly LLB 3, alleging that its promotional teaser insults the legal profession.
Key Allegations about teaser, released on YouTube on August 12, allegedly depicts an advocate wearing a banned tie, misusing the attire of judges and lawyers.
Khan claims the portrayal tarnishes the dignity of the legal community and could disturb societal peace.
The petition, filed under the Specific Relief Act, requests an injunction against the film’s release, scheduled for September 19.
The teaser is said to have been widely circulated via electronic media, further amplifying its impact.
The plaintiff also points out those previous of the franchise faced similar legal challenges.
Civil Judge J.G. Pawar has scheduled the hearing for October 28. The court has asked the film’s creators to respond and present supporting documents. The petition also calls for a ban on the film’s distribution across Maharashtra, including its promotion in newspapers and online platforms.
