(Judicial Quest News Network)
Acting on reliable information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone, Hyderabad, along with Tappachabutra Police, arrested an interstate drug sub-peddler within the jurisdiction of Tappachabutra Police Station. The individual was found in possession of 1132 grams of hash oil, a narcotic substance.
Lalit Mandi, also known as Lalit, hails from Mandisahi, Muthai Village, Koraput District, Odisha. Approximately six months ago, he connected with Sarata Pujari, a resident of Odisha, who was involved in the illicit supply of hash oil and profiting significantly from the activity. Lalit developed a friendship with Pujari and expressed interest in collaborating with him, to which Pujari agreed. Over the past six months, Lalit has been working under Pujari’s direction, delivering hash oil to customers in Hyderabad, earning commissions based on the quantity delivered.
Whenever Sarata Pujari tasked Lalit with a delivery, he would withhold the customers’ identities and contact details. Upon arriving at the designated location, Lalit would provide a description of himself, and the customers would meet him to collect the contraband. Five days prior to his arrest, Pujari instructed Lalit to deliver approximately 1100 grams of hash oil to a customer in Hyderabad and offered a commission of Rs. 30,000 for the delivery.
Following Pujari’s instructions, Lalit traveled to Hyderabad on February 6, 2025, carrying the hash oil, and proceeded to the Arman Hotel, Jhirra, Tappachabutra. Acting on credible information, the South West Zone Task Force, in coordination with Tappachabutra Police, apprehended Lalit in possession of 1132 grams of hash oil.
A case has been registered under Cr. No. 30/2025, Sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, 1985 at Tappachabutra Police Station against the accused.
