Hyderabad Railway Police And RPF Nab Accused, Recover ₹20 Lakh Worth of Stolen Gold In Major Theft Breakthrough.

Hyderabad, June 26, 2025: In a major breakthrough, the Government Railway Police (GRP) Hyderabad, in coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Lingampalli, apprehended a suspect and recovered approximately 200 grams of stolen gold ornaments, valued at 20,00,000, at Lingampalli Railway Station.

At around 07:00 hours on June 26, 2025, B. Praveen Kumar, Inspector, GRP Hyderabad, along with his team—Narsing Rathod (RHC 41), A. Srinivas (RHC 70), Shakeel Pasha (RPC 129), Srinivas (RPC 112), and Ismail Shareef (RPC 348)—assisted by RPF personnel, were conducting routine checks for suspicious activity at Lingampalli Station.

During the operation, they observed a man behaving suspiciously and detained him for questioning. He was later identified as Balla Sagar Anil Kumar, aged 32, a florist by occupation, residing in Suraram, Qutubullapur (R.R. District), with native roots in Nalgonda, Telangana.

Upon frisking, a small golden-brown pouch containing gold ornaments was found in his possession. When questioned, the suspect failed to provide a valid explanation for the possession of the ornaments and eventually confessed to having stolen a passenger’s luggage containing the gold while traveling in Coach B-4 of Train No. 07446 Lingampalli–Kakinada Special Express on the evening of June 24, 2025, shortly after it passed Chandanagar Railway Station. The theft is linked to Crime No. 101/2025 under Section 305(C) BNS, RPS Hyderabad.

Two independent panch witnesses were called to witness the proceedings. The suspect’s confession was formally recorded, and the stolen gold ornaments were seized.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of B. Praveen Kumar, IRP Hyderabad, and the arrest was made under the close supervision of Chandana Deepti, IPS, Senior Railway Police Secunderabad, and S.N. Jawed, DSRP/Secunderabad Urban.
