Hyderabad Cyber Crime Unit Nabs Three Suspects in Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) Cases Linked To Social Media Platforms

Hyderabad, 23, January, 2025. The Hyderabad City Cyber Crime Unit has successfully arrested three individuals connected to Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) cases reported through the Cyber Tipline. These cases stem from incidents on popular social media platforms Instagram and Snapchat, with investigations launched based on alerts from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Preliminary investigations, utilizing IP addresses, mobile numbers, and email IDs, have led to the identification of the accused, all of whom were operating within the jurisdiction of the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate. Evidence and leads from the Cyber Tipline are being carefully analyzed to identify those responsible for creating, sharing, and circulating CSAM.

Allegations: Downloaded and shared child pornography on a fake Snapchat ID

Allegations: Downloaded and shared child pornography on Snapchat
Investigator: Inspector K. Satish Reddy - Case No. 137/2025 – 32-year-old male, private employee (Hyderabad)
Allegations: Downloaded and shared child pornography on a fake Instagram ID

- Report Suspicious Activity: Immediately report any content or accounts promoting child abuse or illegal activity to law enforcement or the platform.
- Avoid Sharing Sensitive Content: Even unintentional sharing of harmful material can have legal consequences.
- Parental Guidance: Parents are encouraged to monitor their children’s online activity, educate them on internet safety, and use privacy settings and parental controls where needed.
- Use Reporting Tools: Utilize resources like NCMEC to report child exploitation online.
