In a momentous development, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have arrested two individuals involved in a high-profile social media trolling case that has raised serious concerns about the spread of defamatory and provocative content. The accused, identified as Pogadadanda Revathi and Bandi Sandhya, are linked to an abusive video that was widely circulated, potentially inciting unrest and damaging the reputation of Telangana’s leadership.

The Case:

On March 10, 2025, a 40-year-old businessman and Congress Social Media Cell State Secretary in Hyderabad stumbled upon an offensive video while browsing the internet. The video, which was posted on the Twitter profile @NippuKodi, featured a controversial interview conducted by Pulse TV. During the interview, an unidentified individual made highly derogatory and abusive comments about Telangana’s Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, and the state’s leadership. The video, framed in a provocative context, was clearly intended to spread misinformation and defamation, posing a threat to public peace.

The @NippuKodi account played a major role in amplifying the video’s reach, sharing and promoting it, ultimately making it go viral. Experts believe that such posts have the potential to incite division and unrest among the public, endangering both law and order in the city of Hyderabad and across Telangana. This prompted the victim to file a formal complaint, seeking legal recourse against the offenders involved in spreading such harmful content.
