Kerala governor Arif Mohammed khan is a special Brand among the governors. On Sunday he met the parents of Mofia Parveen, who reportedly committed suicide following alleged instances of domestic violence. In the past governors did their Constitutional duty and completed their period. But he is involved in social issues and shared griefs of families outside his official duty. That is why he stands high and separate from others. The other day the governor visited the parents of suicided ll b student Mofiya and shared her parents’ sadness. Among other things. He said girls should valiantly fight against dowry and defeat the same. Dowry is cash, gold ornaments, and landed property in the ordinary course. It Is demanded by the boy`s parents or relatives from the girls’ parents during Marriage of the spouses. As the governor suggested it is not a simple thing. It Has centuries old deepness. In mafiya`s case the boy and girl come to contact on social media and later married. After marriage and time passed the Husband demanded dowry and the matter become sore. The wife being an Educated girl, complained to the police, but they did not take it seriously and She thought her problem will not be solved. So, she took a drastic step and Committed suicide. In her deaths sadness the governor went and consoled her Parents. Dowry is a century old social evil. In that respect there is no dispute. Only a Microscopic section can give the demanded dowry. The victims of dowry are Middle class, upper middle class and lower middle-class families and people. At a particular age and stage every parent wants to marry off their daughter by Hook or crook. If the boy is suitable one, they give what can afford and the Balance later. The later may come true or may not come true. If the boy is a government servant, some people demand dowry based on his money Income from the government. There are persons who mint money from their Employment outside and sources.
