Google India Delegation Explores Advancements in Traffic Management at Telangana Police Command Centre

Hyderabad,14, February, 2025.A high-level delegation from Google India recently visited the Telangana State Police Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) to assess the current traffic management system and discuss potential enhancements through cutting-edge Google technologies. This visit follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Google and the Telangana government to implement technology-driven solutions in key sectors.

The delegation was led by Mr. Chandu Thota, VP of Google DeepMind, along with Mr. Rao Surapaneni, VP of Google Cloud, Ms. Shalini Puchalapalli, Country Manager of Google Customer Solutions, and Mr. Seshu Ajjarapu, Senior Director of Google DeepMind. They were accompanied by Mr. Rajesh Ranjan, Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy, and Mr. Srinivas Kodali, Government Affairs and Public Policy.

During the visit, Mr. C.V. Anand, City Police Commissioner, provided a comprehensive presentation on the ICCC’s operations, highlighting the integration of advanced surveillance and data analytics, as well as the use of Google Maps data to monitor and manage traffic congestion. The discussions focused on several key areas to improve the operational efficiency of the ICCC, including the integration of live Google Maps traffic data, automated traffic signal management, and the deployment of drone surveillance to monitor traffic flow in real-time.

Google experts also proposed the use of cloud solutions for more efficient data storage and analysis, particularly for handling the vast amounts of data generated by CCTV footage. They recommended leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to retrieve relevant data for quick analysis, extending storage capabilities beyond the current 30-day limit.

The delegation expressed their support for the Telangana Government’s commitment to using technology for enhancing public safety and governance. The collaboration is expected to significantly enhance the state’s traffic management system, bringing in advanced solutions for better monitoring, automation, and data management.

Also present during the meeting were Mr. P. Viswa Prasad, Addl. CP – Traffic, Ms. J. Parimala Hana Nutan IPS, Jt. CP Admin, Ms. Pushpa, SP – ICCC, and other senior officers.
