Four Years Rigorous Imprisonment to Then Bank Manager and Private Person in Bribery Case

The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) has sentenced Shri Jagdish Prasad, then Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Bankhedi Branch, District Hoshangabad (Madhya Pradesh) and Shri Chhotelal Ahirwar(Private person), both to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.5000/-each in a bribery case.
The instant case was registered on 02.12.2014 on complaint against the accused on the allegations of demanding bribe from the complainant for releasing loan installments of two Housing Loans, already sanctioned and partly disbursed to the complainant. Two loans of Rs. One Lakh each were sanctioned and Rs.50,000/- was disbursed in each loan. CBI laid a trap and caught the private person while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.6000/- from the complainant on behalf of Branch Manager. Both were arrested.
After investigation, chargesheet was filed on 31.12.2014 against Shri Jagdish Prasad, then Branch Manager and Shri Chhotelal (Private person). The Trial Court found both the accused guilty and convicted them
