Driver Arrested for Multiple Vehicle Thefts, Two Stolen Motorcycles Recovered

Hyderabad, 29 January 2025 – The police have arrested 22-year-old Duppati Mahesh, a driver from Boduppal, in connection with the theft of two motorcycles in Hyderabad. Mahesh, who is accused of multiple vehicle thefts, was apprehended on charges of stealing a Bajaj-KTM 250 DUKE ABS BSVI motorcycle, which had been reported missing on January 17, 2025.

The stolen motorcycle belonged to one Mr.Pulipati Srikanth, an IT employee from Asifnagar, who discovered the theft after reviewing CCTV footage from his residence. The footage revealed that the theft occurred between 2:55 AM and 3:05 AM on the same day. After exhausting all search efforts, Srikanth filed a complaint with the Humayun Nagar Police Station.

Following a thorough investigation, authorities were able to recover two stolen motorcycles, including the Bajaj-KTM 250 DUKE ABS BSVI, valued at Rs. 5 lakhs. In addition to this, a second stolen motorcycle with registration number TS08HQ8242, linked to a case in Marredpally, was also recovered.

Mahesh, who has a long history of involvement in similar crimes, has previously been arrested in numerous vehicle theft cases, spanning across various police stations in Hyderabad and its surrounding areas. His criminal record includes multiple charges under sections 379 (theft) and 382 (attempted robbery) of the Indian Penal Code.

The arrest was made under the supervision of Mr. K. Vijay Srinivas, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Asifnagar Division, and other key officers from the Humayun Nagar Police Station.

Mahesh has been remanded to judicial custody, and the investigation into his criminal activities continues.
