On August 14, 2024, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) Patna Zonal Office submitted a Prosecution Complaint (PC) against Akhilesh Yadav, Jaynandan Yadav, and Dinesh Yadav, known for their criminal activities and habitual offenses. The complaint, filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, was accepted by the Hon’ble Special Court (PMLA) in Patna on the same date.
The ED’s investigation was prompted by several FIRs lodged by the Bihar Police against the Yadav brothers, covering various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act. The inquiry revealed that the Yadav brothers were involved in a range of serious criminal activities including criminal conspiracy, murder, attempted murder, robbery, and dacoity. They were also found to have used firearms and ammunition in these crimes.
Through their illicit activities, the Yadavs accumulated proceeds of crime, which were used to acquire immovable properties both in their names and those of their family members. Following the investigation, a Provisional Attachment Order was issued, resulting in the attachment of 29 properties valued at approximately Rs. 2.08 crore. These properties, including agricultural land and residential assets, were subsequently confirmed for attachment by the Adjudicating Authority (PMLA) in New Delhi.
