Delhi Police Raids Office Of The Supreme Court Lawyer Mehmood Parcha, Accuses Him Of Forging The Documents

A special cell of Delhi police on Thursday raided the office of the activist, lawyer Mehmood Pracha. Police have stated that a search warrant has been issued by the High Court and the action is now being executed.
According to the search, the Lawyer has been booked under section 182,193,420,468,471,472,473,120B of the IPC. It notes that incriminating data comprising false complaint and metadata of outbox of E-mail accounts which was used to send incriminating documents are essential to the investigation being conducted by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. The Court ordered the authorities to conduct the search during the day to find such evidence, and ordered it to be video graphed.

Earlier an FIR was also lodged against Parcha and Shia Cleric, Maulana Kalbe Jawad after the announced in a press conference that they would be setting up a camp in Lucknow to teach Muslims and Dalits about the ‘right to self-defense ‘and how to apply for a fire arm licensee.
In a video of the raid posted in twitter by Journalist Aditya Menon, Parcha is seen objecting to the seizure of his laptop by the police, citing client-attorney privilege. He said that police can examine the laptop but cannot but cannot seize it as it will amount to breach of attorney-client privilege
