Delhi Announces Six-Days Complete Lockdown from Tonight Essential Services Exempted

Citing an exponential rise in COVID-19cases, Dlehi has been placed under lockdown from tonight till next Monday (26-4-2021) Morning, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Monday.
This comes as the National Capital has reported the biggest jump in its daily COVID-19tally with 25.462 fresh cases on Sunday and positivity rare shot up to 29.74 percent.
After a meeting with the Delhi lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, CM Arvind Kejriwal addressed a press conference and announced a strict lockdown for a week.
He termed it as a small lockdown and said all essential services will be exempted from this lockdown and marriage services with a limited number of people will be allowed.
It is also said that all the private offices will have to work from home during the lockdown.
Kejriwal said that “Over the past few days Delhi has witnessed over 25,000 daily COVID-19 cases, such massive number of cases will crumbly any functional health systemin the world. Delhi’s health infrastructure is under tremendous pressure at the moment.
Kejriwal said that it was not an easy task to take this decision because I can understand that during the lock down how the people will suffer, the earnings of poor will be affected. It was seen in the last year’s lockdown that how the considerable daily workers were eager to reach out to their villages, Kejriwal urged the daily laborer’s from the neighboring states not to go back to their villages stay in Delhi we all will fight with this collectively Kejriwal further said that his government will fully take care of the people
He said, in the next six days, we will make arrangements for more beds in Delhi. We thank the Central government for helping us.
Oxygen has become an emergency in Delhi
As the situation turned grim Kejriwal wrote to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal urging them to ramp up bed capacity in Central Government-run Hospitals and to ensure “uninterrupted “supply of medical oxygen.
