Under the leadership of DCP Crimes L.C. Naik, the Cyberabad Police, including the CCS, IT Cell, and Social Media teams, have successfully completed the seventh phase of mobile phone recovery. Over the last 30 days, authorities traced and retrieved 310 lost and stolen mobile phones using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. The recovered devices, valued at ₹95 lakh, were officially returned to their rightful owners in a special event held at the Cyberabad Commissioner’s Office on May 12, 2025.
One of the recipients shared her experience, saying, “Six months ago, I lost my mobile phone for the first time, and the police successfully recovered it. Then, two months ago, my phone was stolen again. I was sure I wouldn’t get it back this time. However, I reported the loss at the nearest police station, and to my surprise, the Cyberabad Police once again swiftly recovered it and returned it to me. I am truly grateful to the Cyberabad Police for their remarkable efforts.”
Speaking on the occasion, DCP Naik stressed the importance of reporting lost or stolen phones promptly, either at the nearest police station or through the CEIR portal, which is accessible nationwide. He highlighted how mobile phones store sensitive data and personal memories, making their recovery crucial. He also urged the public to remain alert against cyber fraud and avoid engaging with suspicious links.
During the event, the zone-wise recovery details were shared: CCS Madhapur recovered 80 phones, CCS Bala Nagar 65, CCS Medchal 55, CCS Rajendran agar 55, and CCS Shamshad Shamshabad 55. Several recipients expressed gratitude for the swift action of the police, with some recounting their personal experiences of phone loss and recovery.
DCP Naik also praised the efforts of CCS ACP K. Shashank Reddy, IT Cell Inspector Anjaneyulu, Madhapur CCS Inspector Sanjeev, Shamshabad CCS Inspector Pavan, Bala Nagar CCS Inspector Raju, Medchal CCS Inspector Dalinaidu, social media SI Shashidhar, and their teams for their dedication in successfully completing this operation.
