New Delhi, May 28, 2025: In a substantial breakthrough in national security investigations, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel Moti Ram Jat in connection with an alleged espionage network operating since 2023. Authorities claim that the accused had been covertly sharing highly classified intelligence with Pakistan Intelligence Officers (PIOs), posing a grave threat to India’s security infrastructure.
Sources close to the investigation reveal that Jat was receiving monetary compensation through various undisclosed channels in exchange for sensitive information. The NIA, acting on intelligence inputs, swiftly moved to apprehend the suspect in Delhi, initiating a deeper probe into the matter.
Following his arrest, Jat was presented before the Special Court at Patiala House Courts, which has remanded him to NIA custody until June 6. Investigators are now delving into his interactions and potential accomplices, seeking to unearth the full extent of this espionage operation.
Authorities are expected to issue further statements as the inquiry progresses, with national security concerns taking centre stage in what is shaping up to be a high-profile investigation.
