Hyderabad, 5, April,2026- In a significant development for Telangana’s judicial system, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Surya Kant praised the state government for its “positive” and “progressive” approach in strengthening the judiciary.

Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Zone-II of the Telangana High Court complex in Rajendranagar, the CJI described the upcoming facility as one of the finest in the country, underscoring the importance of robust judicial infrastructure for a vibrant democracy.

  1. A High Court that operates from scattered premises and congested buildings is a court whose daily function depends on arrangements it does not control.” CJI Said.

Joined by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Telangana High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Justice Surya Kant emphasized that investment in judicial infrastructure is not a matter of choice but a necessity for all state governments.

“A High Court functioning from scattered premises and congested buildings is constrained by circumstances beyond its control.

This new hundred-acre campus will change that reality,” he remarked.

  • This hundred-acre campus in Hyderabad will transform that. Courtrooms, administrative offices, archives, residential infrastructure, and training facilities will be grouped together on a single self-contained site. The judiciary here will operate on its own terms and its own turf. That is what institutional self-sufficiency looks like when you move it from theory into brick and mortar.

The complex, he explained, will integrate courtrooms, administrative offices, archives, residential quarters, and training facilities into a single, self-contained site.

After reviewing the conceptual models, the CJI noted that the project would set a benchmark for public infrastructure nationwide.

He further revealed that the state government has committed to completing the entire complex, including residential facilities, within two years. “I congratulate the state government and its dynamic Chief Minister for this forward-looking vision,” he said.

Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh echoed these sentiments, highlighting the government’s unwavering support.

He pointed out that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the state has sanctioned ₹2,583 crores for the construction of the new High Court building. “This reflects a strong commitment to strengthening judicial institutions and ensuring responsiveness to the needs of the judiciary,” Justice Singh observed.

He also recalled recent initiatives by the government, including the laying of foundation stones for nine new District Court complexes across newly formed districts.

These facilities will encompass specialized courts under the Pocso Act and Family Courts, further expanding access to justice across Telangana.

With the ambitious project underway, Telangana is poised to emerge as a model state in judicial infrastructure, setting new standards for efficiency, accessibility, and institutional strength.
