CJI Ranjan Gogoi feels something fundamentally wrong, with Supreme Court Registry

Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi expressed anguish upon the Supreme Court Registry yet again, expressing his disappointment at its functioning.

There is something fundamentally wrong. Despite lot of efforts, I have not been successful (in getting cases listed).”

Justice Gogoi said that comparatively the Supreme Court have far less numbers of cases then High Courts, listing is taking more time here (Supreme Court).

It is observed by the remarks he made that CJI is not happy with way Supreme Court Registry has been functioning, earlier this month he had rebuked the Registry officials in open court after a mentioning by a lawyer who claimed that her matter was deleted from the list.

In Erricson’s Contempt plea against the Reliance Communication and the Anil Ambani two court masters were sacked for tampering with an order of Supreme Court Manav Sharma and Tapkan Kumar Chakraborty later they were arrested by the Delhi Crime Branch.

He took exception to the fact that the Noida Toll Bridge Company Limited v.Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association case was listed too soon.

CJI was concerned about the earlier incidents that lowered the integrity of the Supreme Court Registry.

Due to such incidents the Supreme Court Registry has come under scanner.

It was reported that the officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Delhi Police would be deputed soon to the Apex Court to keep an eagle eye upon the functioning of the Registry.
