CBI Registers One More Case on The Orders of Calcutta High Court Related to Violence & Other Offences in West Bengal and Also Arrests Three Accused in An On-Going Investigation of Another Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation has today registered one more case in compliance of the orders of Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta, passed in connection with WPA (P) 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149 & 169 of 2021, dated 19.08.2021 and taken over the investigation of the case related to alleged murder of Sh. Biswajit Mahesh, earlier registered at Police Station Sabang (Paschim Medinipur), West Bengal vide FIR No. 167/2021 dated 05.05.2021.
It was alleged that the accused attacked the deceased in the night of 04.05.2021 with iron rod & sword and later threw him in a pond. He was taken to Sabang Hospital where he was declared dead.
In pursuant to the on-going investigation of another case registered by CBI on 01.09.2021, CBI has arrested three accused. The instant case was initially registered at Police Station Duttapukur, District North 24 Parganas vide FIR No. 286/2021 dated 03.05.2021 on the allegations that the accused got hold of the victim and family members while they were working in their field on 03.05.2021. It was further alleged that the accused attacked them with fire arms, bombs, lathi etc. and during such attack, a victim expired.
The arrested accused were produced today before the Competent Court and were remanded to three days Police Custody.
