CBI Registers Case Against Assistant (Grade-I) FCI Divisional Office Bhopal on Allegations of Disproportionate Assets and Conducts Searches At 13 Locations

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against an Assistant Grade-I, Food Corporation of India, Divisional Office, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) on the allegations of illicit enrichment to the tune of Rs.2,93,03,396/- (approx) during the check period of 02.12.2016 to 29.05.2021.
Searches are being conducted today at 13 locations in Bhopal, Vidisha, Khandwa, Jhabua, Narsingpur, Jabalpur, Nanded and Jalgaon including at the premises of contractors/private persons.
The instant case has been registered on the basis of information collected during investigation of another case related to alleged bribery, wherein 04 FCI officials including the said Assistant Grade-I were arrested. During the searches at the premises of accused in the said case of bribery, cash of Rs. 3.01 crore (approx) was recovered.
It may be noted that in the earlier case registered on the allegations of bribery, the four arrested accused including Divisional Manager, Manager (Accounts), Manager (Security) and the said Assistant (Grade-I) were remanded to police custody. The Divisional Manager and two Managers were sent to judicial custody. The said Assistant (Grade-I), was produced today before the Special Judge, CBI cases, Bhopal and remanded to police custody till 10.06.2021.
The investigation in both cases is continuing.
