Orissa 10, July,2025-In a major breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to curb corruption, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended the Chief Manager (Mining) of Mahanadi Coal Limited (MCL), Basundhara Area, Sundergarh district, Odisha, while he was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of ₹20,000.
The incident took place after the CBI registered a case against the senior official on July 9, 2025. According to official sources, the Chief Manager allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹30,000 from a complainant in return for facilitating the release of a compensation fund amounting to ₹11.37 lakh.
