CBI Cracks Down: ₹7 Crore Worth Properties Attached in High-Profile Corruption Case

(Judicial Quest News Network)

The Special Judge of the Anti-Corruption CBI Court No.1, Ghaziabad, has issued an ad-interim order on 02.06.2025 to attach 14 properties belonging to the former Additional Commissioner of Income Tax in connection with a Disproportionate Assets case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered the case on 22.09.2022, alleging that the accused, while serving in various tax offices across New Delhi, Moradabad, Lucknow, and other locations between 2008 and 2018, engaged in corrupt practices that led to the acquisition of disproportionate assets worth ₹7.52 crore—far beyond his known sources of income.

During the investigation, authorities discovered 14 high-value immovable assets, spread across Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Hardoi, Barabanki, and Goa, allegedly acquired by the accused and his family members.

The probe into this financial scandal is still underway.
