The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a corruption case against the Divisional Operations Manager (DOM) of South-Central Railway, Secunderabad, following allegations of soliciting and accepting bribes in exchange for job placements.
The case, registered on April 29, 2025, is based on a complaint from the Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer (Traffic) and RPF, Secunderabad. The complaint alleged that the DOM demanded bribes for selecting candidates for key posts—Traffic Inspectors and Chief Controllers—in the Operating Department at South Central Railway Headquarters.
According to the CBI, the accused accepted a total bribe of ₹1.65 lakh—₹40,000 in cash from one candidate and ₹1.25 lakh via UPI transfers to his son’s bank account from four other candidates during the months of July and August 2023.
Further investigations uncovered suspicious financial activity amounting to ₹31.62 lakh in the accounts of the official and his son—funds reportedly disproportionate to their known sources of income.
CBI teams conducted searches at four locations: two in Solapur, one in Hyderabad, and one in Guntakal. The raids led to the seizure of incriminating documents linked to the bribery and financial irregularities.
The investigation is ongoing, with more revelations expected as scrutiny of financial records continues.
