CBI Arrests Two Accused in an Alleged Bribery Case Of Rs. Ten Lakh

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested two private persons in an alleged bribery case of Rs.10 lakh.
CBI has registered a case at Chandigarh on a complaint alleging therein that a private person was demanding bribe of Rs.50,00,000/- for disposing of a complaint received against the complainant in the office of DSP Zirakpur. CBI laid a trap and the private person was caught while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.10 lakh from the complainant as part payment. After accepting the said bribe, the accused handed over the same to another person, who was accompanying him. Another person was also caught. It has also been alleged that an amount of Rs.12.5 lakh was earlier delivered by the complainant to the accused.
Searches were conducted at three premises of the accused in Zirakpur (Punjab), Jind & Kaithal (Both in Haryana).
The arrested accused were produced in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases at Chandigarh and remanded to two days police custody.
