CBI Arrests an Absconding Accused in A Case Related to Wildlife Offences

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an absconding accused, resident of District Dausa (Rajasthan) from Malwas in District Dausa. He was absconding since 2008 in two cases related to wildlife offences.

          CBI had registered two cases on 30.06.2005 on the request of Rajasthan Government & further notification from Govt of India and took over the investigation of these cases, earlier registered vide FIR No.-11/93 & 45/91 by Forest Department, Sariska (Rajasthan). The first case was registered on the allegations that in 2004, the accused killed a Tigress (Bagin) in the forest of Kali ghati near ‘Kala Kund’ beat Ghanka, Sariska (Rajasthan) by using topisar gun and iron traps. They took out the skin of Tigress and sold for Rs. 50,000/-. The second case was registered on the allegations that the accused in 2003, killed a male panther at Kali Ka Dhaba, Jungle of Bighauta, Alwar (Rajasthan) by using fire arm, iron trap and its skin was sold for Rs. 1800/-. Two accused were evading their presence before the Court of ACJM at Jaipur. The accused were declared as Proclaimed Offender and NBW were issued against them during the year 2008. One of the accused was arrested and convicted in 2019. The second accused was evading arrest. Due to sustained & continuous efforts, the said accused was traced & arrested.

          The arrested accused was produced before the Court of ACJM, Jaipur and sent to Judicial Custody.
